OLEKSII ILYASHENKO TOOK PART IN THE PRESENTATION OF THE ASSESSMENT REPORT «CHILDREN AFFECTED BY MINES OR EXPLOSIVE REMNANTS OF WAR ASSISTANCE NEEDS»
Today, October 1, 2019, the Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine on European Integration, Oleksii Ilyashenko, participated in the presentation of the assessment report on the research results «Children affected by mines or explosive remnants of war assistance needs»
The Danish Refugee Council-Danish Demining Group (DRC-DDG), in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) presented the results of assessment report.
Oleksii Ilyashenko thanked the organizers for the research and cooperation in preventing injuries from explosives, especially civilians and children, and also assured that the preliminary agreements reached by Minister Oksana Koliada with international partners on further activities in this direction will be carried out taking into account the report presented.
«Mine Action is one of the essential components of the Ministry’s activities, and our primary task is to assist in effective education in the East of Ukraine about the risks of finding mines or other explosives, as well as understanding safety rules and behavior among adults and children», ‒ noted the Deputy Minister.
