MINISTRY FOR REINTEGRATION OF TOT AND UNDP DISCUSSED COOPERATION IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROJECT "EU SUPPORT TO THE EAST OF UKRAINE – RECOVERY, PEACEBUILDING AND GOVERNANCE"

On March 30th, 2021, an online meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine Rostyslav Zamlynskyi and the Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine Viacheslav Shapovalov with the UNDP representatives.
Within the framework of the meeting the Parties discussed the activities of the UNDP Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts as well as new directions of cooperation between the Ministry and the Programme, in particular within the framework of the project "EU Support to the east of Ukraine – Recovery, Peacebuilding and Governance."
During the meeting the Parties agreed to cooperate in coordinating research on infrastructure restoration and service provision: mapping research, assessments on key infrastructure restoration and improvement and provision of services in eastern Ukraine.
Information. The UNDP Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme has addressed priority needs in eastern Ukraine arising since the outbreak of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine in the spring of 2014.
The Programme serves to strengthen public security and social cohesion, support economic recovery in conflict-affected communities, and implement decentralization reforms of power and health care in the Government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The total budget for 2019 - 2022 constitutes more than USD 80 million.
