THE CABINET OF MINISTERS HAS APPOINTED OLEKSII REZNIKOV AS CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF DECISIONS OF THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

On July 8, 2020, the Government made amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 258 dated from April 1, 2020, “On establishment of the Commission on the Implementation of the ECHR decisions.”

Therefore, by relevant amendments Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine has been appointed as the Chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission, and the composition of the Commission has been re-approved.

The corresponding decision shall ensure effective synergies of the state authorities for timely implementation of the ECHR decisions.

According to the regulations, the Interdepartmental Commission on the implementation of the ECHR decisions is an Advisory body to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Basic agenda of the Commission is to develop the mechanism to eliminate systemic and structural issues, which are mentioned in the ECHR decisions; to prepare and submit proposals on the implementation of the ECHR decisions to the Cabinet of Ministers and the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe; to improve the legal and regulatory framework for the implementation of the ECHR decisions.
